TEHRAN — Iran’s Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps (IRGC) has warned that any country used as a launch point for U.S. military operations against Iran would be considered a legitimate military target, according to a statement released on Tuesday.
The IRGC said it now has the capability to monitor any location from which the United States might launch attacks against Iran, signaling what it described as an expansion of its surveillance and military readiness.
In the statement, the IRGC also claimed that recent U.S. strikes against Iran were initially carried out using missiles launched from U.S. warships in the Indian Ocean.
It further alleged that after those vessels exhausted their missile inventories, the United States deployed B-1 strategic bombers from RAF Fairford Air Base in southwest England—approximately 4,000 kilometers from Iran—to continue the operation.
The claims made by the IRGC have not been independently verified.
The statement comes amid heightened tensions between Washington and Tehran, as concerns grow over the possibility of a wider regional conflict.
