Somali Prime Minister Hamza Abdi Barre presided over the graduation ceremony of the elite Danab Special Forces.
The facility where the event took place the Balli-dogle military base in the Lower Shabelle region was officially renamed the General Hassan Tuure Training School.
The military base was renamed to honor Major Hassan Mohamed Osman (Hassan Tuure), a highly respected deputy commander of the #Danab Special Forces who was killed during a counterterrorism operation against Al-Shabaab.
the ceremony, Prime Minister Barre expressed gratitude to international partners, particularly the United States, which provides vital training, equipment, and logistical support to the Danab Brigade via the U.S. Africa Command (AFRICOM).
The newly graduated commandos are deployed directly into ongoing anti-Al-Shabaab operations across south and central Somalia.
