Yemen’s armed forces said early today that they were carrying out strikes against the Iran-aligned Houthi militias in the capital, Sana’a, and at the group’s strongholds in the city.
A spokesperson for the Yemeni forces said they were targeting what he described as “important targets,” but provided no further details.
Al-Masirah TV, which is affiliated with the Houthi Ansar Allah group, reported early Sunday that Saudi Arabia had carried out an attack on Sana’a.
The channel quoted the Houthi Ministry of Health as saying that a Saudi airstrike on the Al-Ahyouq intersection in Al-Wazi’iyah district, Taiz province, had so far resulted in two deaths and several injuries.
There has been no confirmation from Saudi authorities.
The Houthis accused Saudi Arabia of carrying out 26 airstrikes on Sana’a on Saturday, while Yemen’s internationally recognized government forces announced that they had conducted an operation targeting military positions in the city.
The group also claimed that it had targeted an Aramco facility in Riyadh with ballistic missiles and drones, following reports of a fire at the company’s oil refinery in southern Riyadh.
