The United States has reportedly suspended its military strikes inside Iran amid concerns over dwindling supplies of offensive missiles and air defense interceptors, according to a report by Axios citing sources close to the White House.
The report says Gen. Brad Cooper, the top U.S. military commander in the Middle East, advised that limited strikes were unlikely to achieve meaningful strategic results and recommended pausing the military campaign.
According to Axios, diplomatic efforts are also underway to bring Washington and Tehran back to the negotiating table in search of a negotiated solution to the conflict.
Meanwhile, Iran announced that it has halted its attacks on U.S. military bases in the Middle East, stating that the decision came after the United States suspended its military operations inside Iran.
