A shocking incident has been reported this morning from Mexico, after a man attempted to approach the country’s first female president, Claudia Sheinbaum, taking advantage of the crowd and chaos around her.
Video footage shows the man coming up from behind the president and placing his hands on her, before later being seen kissing her on the neck.
Early reports indicate that the man appeared to be frightened after the incident.
President Sheinbaum, visibly angry, stated that the man will face strict legal action.
Women’s rights activists are now questioning: if even the president herself can experience such an incident, what does that say about the safety of ordinary women who face similar situations every day?
