NISA Strengthens Its Command Structure in Galgaduud Region

The Somali National Intelligence and Security Agency (NISA) has increased the number of commands where its forces operate in Galgaduud Region, part of Galmudug State, in an effort to strengthen security.

NISA has trained new recruits, while training camps in several districts of Galgaduud Region are hosting soldiers undergoing training. Once their training is completed, they will be assigned to NISA stations across the region.

NISA Director-General Mahad Mohamed Salad inspected some of these camps and met with Somali intelligence officers, receiving updates on the condition of the forces and their needs.

The move is part of efforts to strengthen Somalia’s armed forces so they can assume responsibility for the country’s security, following the African Union’s recent statement that security responsibilities in Somalia will be transferred to the Federal Government.
