Israel’s UN ambassador, dannydanon , was removed from the General Assembly hall after staging a solo protest in the centre aisle during Iranian President drpezeshkian ‘s speech.
He also confronted an Iranian diplomat and used a Starlink terminal as a political prop.
In September 2023, former Israeli ambassador Gilad Erdan was briefly detained and escorted out after approaching the front of the hall and waving a photo of Mahsa Amini during a speech by then-President Ebrahim Raisi.
Both ambassadors disrupted proceedings from the floor, violating #UN protocol and prompting their immediate removal. Neither was barred from the UN nor expelled from their diplomatic role.
